BUILDING BRAND AWARENESS
In the beginning of 2017, 1000 Pitches, a two-month long pitch competition, was gearing up to launch at Georgia Tech. With an ambitious goal of getting 1000 students to pitch their ideas, 1000 Pitches needed something that could propel it to the forefront of the mind of Georgia Tech students. No one had ever heard of the brand before, and students were constantly inundated with different events and initiatives at the institute.
The team at Elevate Media realized that 1000 Pitches needed to stand out above the crowd. To do that, it had to be something cool, something exciting that would get students talking about it and spreading it via word-of-mouth, by far the most valuable type of marketing. We decided that Facebook videos would be the best and easiest way of reaching the most students while carrying the highest likelihood of going viral. With that in mind, we set out to launch 1000 Pitches.
LAUNCHING 1,000 PITCHES
Initially, we planned and produced a short, one-shot style video that sold 1000 Pitches to the student body in a compelling, visually stunning medium. Within a couple of weeks, the first 1000 Pitches announcement video had reached over 10,000 people, with more than 2,000 views. The Facebook page for 1000 Pitches blew up, gaining over 100 likes in the first day of its creation. With that initial success, we took advantage of the momentum and created two more videos, one announcing the opening ceremony date of the competition and one explaining how the competition worked. The two videos collectively reached over 10,000 people, one garnering over 1,500 views and the other 3,000.
With the help of the team at Elevate Media, 1000 Pitches became one of the most known brands at Georgia Tech’s campus in early 2017.
